HomeMy Public PortalAbout1947.07.11 Council Minutes257 July 11, 1947 A special meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Village of P,~cCall, Idaho, was held on the above date for• the purpose of organizing the Police Department and any other business which may come before said ward: Roll Call: R~. E. Jordan, Chairman @6allace Hiatt Joe Kasper The meeting was called to order by Chairman ~"~. E. Jordan. Motion by V9allace Hiatt seconded by Joe Kasper that the Police Department be authorized to purchase the necessary supplies to set up a police docket. Carried. ~!o+ion by Joe Kasper seconded by PGallace Hiatt that the Police Dept. by authorized to select men for reserv e police and order the necessary shirts, pants and caps and other equipment for such reserve police. Carried. Mothin by Joe Kasper seconded by PTallace Hiatt that Tom Kimery be released and Tom Raise by hired as Chief of Police and that Bill Southworth be hired as assistant, also, that both men shall receiv e a salary of X250.00 per month. Carried. Motion b;,- VPallace Hiatt seconded by Joe Kasper that the reserve police be paid a salary of X5.00 for each shift of actual duty. Carried. The Board checked tf~e names appearing on the petition for an appropriation approval to set up X7,500.00 for street construction, graveling, surfacing, oiling and finishing. Upon convassing the petition there was found to b e 251 qualifying voters on the petition, whereas, only 202 was necessary. The petition was declared to have carried. Motion by ~lallace Hiatt seconded by Joe Kasper that the Village accept the bid of ?barren C. Duffy to dig the ditch for the water line at a price of 75¢ per foot and that the Fillage Iay and refill the pipe line. Carried.
