HomeMy Public PortalAbout1949.11.07 Council MinutesNovetber 7, 1949 A regular meeting of the Board of Trustees, of the Village of McCall, Idaho, was held on the above date and the following business transacted: Roll Call: Art Roberts Fred Kerby BohrMcBride Forest Goodrich The meeting was stalled to order by the Chairman Art Roberts: The minutes of October 3 rd were read and approved. Roy May appeared before the Board to request an explanation of the water bill against the house he purchases from Fred Hamrick and later sold to Dorman Whittom. K. Johnson of the Union Pacific appeared before the Board development which has arisen through the rate change requested by the Denver end Rio Grande R. R. which would enable them to sallicit business originating in Union Pacific Territ ory in Idaho. Mr. Johnson asks the backing of the people of the community in the stand of the Union Pacific against the demands of the Denver and Rio Grande. Ted Harwood and Tuck Beyerle appeared at the meeting regarding the changing of the name of McCall to Payette Lakes . Ben Martin explained the legal proceedure. No action was taken. A request was received from the ladies interested in the childrens-preschool play group -to use the front room of the Village Hall deximxthe for said activity. The only request in the way of expens a to the Village was that the toilet be put in working order. The matt er was agreeable to the Board. The following bills were read: C. A. Ordinance No. 154 being a repealing act for ordinances eliminated from the new codification of ordinances wa s brought before the Board. Motion by Forest Goodrich seconded by Fred Kerby that the rules be suspended and that Ordinance #154 be put through under said suspension. Carried. Ordinance #154 was read once at length and twice by title a nd put upon its final pass age. The Vote on Ordinance #154 was unanimous. Ordinance #155 being an Ordinance relating to the printing of the nVillape of McCall Code of 19490 was brought before the Board. Motion by Forest Goodrich seconded by Fred Kerby that Ordinance #155 be put through under the suspension of the rules. Carried. Ordinance #155 was read once at length and twice by title and put upon it's•final Passage. The Vote on Ordinance #1.55 was unanimous. Ordinance #156 being an Ordinance to control railroad trains crossing Village streets was brought before the Board. Motion by Forest Goodrich seconded by Fred Kerby that Ordinance #156 be put throuj under the suspension of the rules. Carried. Ordinance #156 was read once at length and twice by title and put upon it's final passage. The vote on Ordinance ;#156 was unanimous.
