HomeMy Public PortalAboutResolutions-2024-016RESOLUTION NO. 2024-016 A RESOLUTION SETTING THE DATE OF MARCH 19, 2024, FOR A PUBLIC HEARING TO REDUCE THE SOUTHBOUND SPEED LIMIT ON ROBERTS FERRY ROAD BETWEEN RAILROAD STREET AND INTERSTATE 80 Whereas, the City recognizes that the southbound speed limit on Roberts Ferry Road is 45 mph between Railroad Street and Interstate 80; and, Whereas the City Council of the City of Tiffin recognizes that the speed limit should be reduced to 35 mph with the west side of Roberts Ferry Road now inside the city limits and with current and future development planned on that side of the road, Now, therefore be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Tiffin, Iowa to approve setting a public hearing for March 19, 2024, at 7:00 p.m. to reduce the speed limit on Roberts Ferry Road southbound between Railroad Street and Interstate 80 to 35 mph. On the 5th day of March, at a regular meeting of the Tiffin City Council, Tiffin, Iowa, Councilperson Orris introduced RESOLUTION NO. 2024-016, A RESOLUTION SETTING THE DATE OF MARCH 19, 2024, FOR A PUBLIC HEARING TO REDUCE THE SOUTHBOUND SPEED LIMIT ON ROBERTS FERRY ROAD BETWEEN RAILROAD STREET AND INTERSTATE 80 and made a motion for approval. Motion seconded by Councilperson Schnedler. Ayes: Havens, Olney, Orris, Schnedler, Limkemann. Nays: None. Absent: None. Whereupon five Council members were present and voted approval and Mayor Kasparek declared that the RESOLUTION NO. 2024-016, A RESOLUTION SETTING THE DATE OF MARCH 19, 2024, FOR A PUBLIC HEARING TO REDUCE THE SOUTHBOUND SPEED LIMIT ON ROBERTS FERRY ROAD BETWEEN RAILROAD STREET AND INTERSTATE 80 to be adopted and signified his approval of the same by affixing his signature thereto.
