HomeMy Public PortalAbout1952.05.02 Council Minutes 6 3 May 5, 1952.. A regular meeting of the Village Board was held on the above date and the following business transacted: Roll. Call: Art Roberts Present Blair C.Armstrong n Fred Kerby J.D.Moore n Sterling Clark a Meeting for the month of April adjourned. Minutes of April 2, 7,14 and 15th,1952 were read and approved. The awarding of item 51 in the minutes of April 15,1952 was brought before the Board by the Chairman. This item covered the standby pump which was awa ded to Waterworks Equipment Co. The awarding 4-4 of this bid was subsequently cancelled by nn'nimous consent of the ;; Board. Aekaret asked to see Ernie Watkins regarding taking down the old Shell Building and to request Mr. Watkins to come to the June m eeting and discuss this matter. Kerby and AcUret are to contact the Idaho Power Company about putting up the new warning lights. Jess Moore reported on the meeting with John Stringer. Mr.Stringer would not price the land running South from the Airport but estimated that his yearly profit from the land as exceeding $25000.00. He would be agreeable to talking to the Board and would be reasonable; possibly trading excess land on the East corner for the strip running down the Railroad track;provided the runway be kept at 200 feet. The Chairman instructed Jess Moore and Robt. RempkAlus to continue working on the matter with Mr.Stringer. The matter of individuals building hangars on the Airport was discussed, this was placed under the jurisdiction of Bob Fogg, Airport Manager. Harry Hunt asked permission to set up his pop corn stand in the area between Busts Service Staion and the Chevron Station,provided he can not set upm on the Harwood lot next to Stockwells. This was agreeable to the Board. The matter of the annual budget was then brought before the Board. (See attached copy) Motion by Clark, second by Kerby that an increase of ten (10) per cent be made in the salaries of the two regular police,the water and street manager and the manager of the Golf course./WWWIT JgAgRXFD Proposed ordinance No.170 salary adjustment of Vatermaster was discussed. Motion by Armstrong,sceond by Kerby that rules be suspended for the passage of ordinance No.170. Motion carried. r- Ordinance No.170 was then read twice by title and once at length and put upon its final passage. The vote on ordinance No.170 was unanimous. The Chairman thereupon declared ordinarwe No.170 a law. Proposed ordinance No.171,salary adjustment of Chief of Police was discussed. Motion by Ar*strong, second by Kerby that rules be suspended for the passage of ordinance No.171. Motion carried. Ordinance No.171 was then read twice byv title and once at Angth and put upon its final passage. The vote on ordinance No.171 was unanimous.
