HomeMy Public PortalAbout1953.04.06 Council Minutes 9`) McCall, Idaho - April 6, 1953 A regular meeting of the V llage -Board was held on the above date and the following business transacted: Roll Call : Authur Roberts Present Jess Moore " Blair Armstrong {'red Kerby 'r Sterling Clark 1,' The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved as read. —� .Edith Vassar requested approval of the Board to make the following adjustments to the Village water accounts, which were previously entered in the ledger and are duplications or charges made in error. To waive 3 months of Grace Bennett To Waive 3 months of Mae '- onecher To waive 5 months of Matt Heikkila To waive 3 months of Cory Engen To waive 5 months of Nellie Williams To credit Frank Woods with a ,40 service which was charged twice . The above credits were duly seconded and passed unanimously. J. H. Hayes and C . L. Schoenhut were present and presented their bids for the Village liability insurance . Frei Kerby was instructed to investigate the policies and inform the Board of his recommendations. The Board was informed of a letter from Mr. H. H. Falser who was also present at the meeting. He informed the Board that he had been approached about ooen_ing an office in McCall as an engineer and surveyor. He inquired as to the Boards thoughts of a retainers fee for his services if he should open in McCall . The various aspects of having the services of a surveyor and engineer for the people wire discussed. Mr. Nelson was also present and presented figures on oiling the road between the LicC,ll Hotel and the Golf Coarse . He said ao:oroximately 13,000 gals . of oil were necessary to lay a matt 2-211 20 ft . wide . HIe would charge .07 for the oiler or a total of .224 to oil it which totals „;2360 plus 100 for the rollor or ` 2960 for the job. Bus Johnson was present representing the JC and requested. permission to block off the street between LolaTs Cafe and Stoctihwells from the 1st to the llth of July for the carnival. Roberts stated he was o )posed becuase of the tra,°'fic problem at that time of year. He also requested assistance for the 4th of July fireworks program. Also discussed was the problem of the fire truck in the Village shop where anyone could have access to the Village tools etc. The minutes of the Airport meeting were real. Roberts rea ] the Board a letter from 'Nest Coast Airlines and informed the Board that the oreliminery plan is ready but should be checked before it is presented. The following bills were then re d. Sterling moved the bills be paid which was seconded by Armstrong and carried unanimously. The budgets for the 1953-1954 fiscal year were presented which is attached to and a part of these minutes . The Flourine in the water situation was briefly discussed and the Board was informed of the opoosi.tion by sum of the people in the Village to the program. Moore brought up several matters which sould be taken care of before a new Board i. installed. Several street lights should be taken care of and an inventory of all the assets of the Village should be made . ge also reported a sewer and disposal plant c ald be installed for less than ;;a00, 000. 9 The following; bills were then read: C.
