HomeMy Public PortalAbout1954.06.14 Council Minutes 1 2 hcC4l, Idaho June 1L, 1954 continuation of the regular ;:meting of June 7, 1554 Roberts Present Kerby Srmstrong " Spielman Roberts declared the purpose of the meeting to consider the donation of the Youth Center building of Frank Freer ans' to the Village for use at the golf course, and to consider any applicatfis for the police positions. Roberts reported the several bids the Village has received to move the building to the Golf course ranged from one to three thousand dollars. There were also several power and phone line drops to be considered if the building were moved. The condition of the building was blefly siscuosed. Following consideration of the several factors invIlved in moving the buiding and the building itself, Armstrong moved the Village reject the gift. the Clerk was instructed to .Frith Frank Freeman a letter from the Board thanking him for his offer to donate the building to the Village. The motion was seconded by Moore and carried unanimously. itoberts reported that the formal portion of the airport dedication had been cancelled W due to the condition of the field. A proclamation woulcibe issued dedicating the field for use and the beginning flights would not be cancelled. The librarian and clerk position was briefly discu: :_ed. Roberte reviewed the -olice situation. Stephens had resigned to age and other circumstances and the several applications for the position were discussed. 'Moore reported the interviews and applications he had received and his conversation with sill Crooke. i:o objection was had by the Board to his choice for the position. No furthur business coming before the hoard, the Chairman declared the meeting rece, sed until the call of the Chair. � ,! nairman / T� Attest / f ` Clerk McCall, Idaho June 26, 1954 continuation .of the regular meeting of June 3, 1954 Roberts Present n Arras trtng Spielman Moore Kerby Roberts declared the purpose of the meeting was to work out a solution in regard to the deliquent monies due the County and the State on the Slot ?Machine licenses, and to review the applications for the Police position. Roberts reported that the County had just been audited and the County Commissioners are interested in disposing of the balance due them. Remaklus stated that any reasonable arrangement would be satisfactory with the County over a perid of three- four years. There followed a discussion of the funds of the Village and the liabilities of the Village, Remaklus suggested that someone meet with the County Commissioners and work out a plan to amortize the balance over a perid of years. Moore moved to authorize the `-hairman and Clerk to enter into an agreement with the County and State and offer a minnimum of 5'250.00 per month in settlement of the debt. Moore reported on the several applications for the police position. Following discussion on the applicants, Moore recommended that the Village accept Bill Crook if furthur investigation proves satisfactory. No furthur business coming before the Board the Chairman declared the meeting recessed until the call of the Chair. er Chu !mail
