Roberts stated the ')urpose of the meeting was to consider the results
of tne ectober 5th meetin';; with the sewer committee. Nyman Zachary
who was present read a report of the meeti_n - held with the se ,per

the construction of a hospital and the expansion of seveare .fac-

eral Oblicrat ion 'Bon ,s and sewer revenue bonds, and tue problems
of each. Also discussed were the types of ballots, time of publication
etc. . ilpn. Paris stated th)tt all tue Bospit L Coainittee desired
was the assurance of the Villa ;e Board that the issue be Presented to
the people preferably before January 1, 1955. -here followeda discussion
on the costs of the ho:3Dital and the sewer.
:Moore moved that the bone issue be presented to the people in a form
satisf ,ctory to the Board .prior t_; .Jan Lary 1, 1 )55 when all the nec-
essary information is before the ;Board. The motion :was seconded by
Arms trthn;B and carried unanimously,
The followed a discussion on the enJi neerincr costs connected w th

The possibility of construction the proposed hIsnital on Villa re
to save save cost was discussed. The architect and the hospital
representative form the Litate weals -)e contacted as soon as possible .

seconded by .Bpi elman and carried unanimously.

The meeting was calle i for the purpose of meeting with Vendel Smith
engineer, and consider an estimate on the proposed sewer construction.
i''ollowin; discussion with :"aendel Smith he stated that the estimate
for the proposed construction would be approximately }360,000.00 Smith
suTested that more information be hod from the hospital Board before
going ahead with anything more definite on the sewer. The Chair stated
that a meeting would try to be arranged with Chet Shasver, archtect,
and hr. Peterson fromthe Dept. of Public Health Tuesday October 20, 193'4.

Roberts reviewed the last series of meting held by the Board in re-
gard to the sro�oosed hospital. pie also outlined the difficulties
of the hospital and sewer in regard to financing, cost etc . . Roberts
asked Chet Shawver, archtect for the hospital k3oard who was present
and Hatley from t he Dept. of Public Heelth to pre snt the alternat-
ives .
Shawver °resented a complete set of olans on the hospital and gave corn-
olete det sil on the cost, construction etc. Total cost for the build-
i.ng band permanent fixtures only would e approxi_ately x;135,072.00,
or about X11+. 80 oer foot for a Class A structure. There followed a
discussion on the cost, location and various aspects of the proposed
building as presented by Shawver.
latleI told trio Board of the oistory and the function of the Hill-
burton Act. Zr. iiatley then gave the Dept. of Public Healths reasons
why a hospital should be constructed in McCall. All seurrounding fac-
ilities a substandard as to structure and this orovides a central loc-
ation. There followed a lengthy discussion on on the methods of fi-
nancing by the govt. and the factors which make or break a hospital.
The whole operation as to financing, ?ovt. participation etc was
discussed at length.
