HomeMy Public PortalAbout2019-41 Approving the payment of ULTRA Music Festival expensesRESOLUTION NO. 2OI9-4I A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF KEY BISCAYNE, FLORIDA, APPROVING THE PAYMENT OF ULTRA MUSIC FESTIVAL RELATED EXPENSES; PROVIDING FOR IMPLEMENTATION; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. \üHEREAS, the Village of Key Biscayne ("Village") authorized the Village Manager to expend an amount not to exceed $30,000 to hire HNTB Corporation and Carlton Fields Jorden Burt, P.A. (Collectively, the "Consultants") to assist the Village in addressing issues related to the Ultra Music Festival (the "Festival"); and \ilHEREAS, on January 15, 2019, the Village Council, by motion, increased the Village Manager's expenditure authority to an amount not to exceed $90,000; and WHEREAS, the Village recently received the final invoices from the Consultants, which when added to the previous invoices, exceeded the Village Manager's expenditure authority by approximately $1 5,000; and WHEREAS, the Village Manager recommends the payment of the additional expenditures in an amount not to exceed $ 15,000; and WHEREAS' the Village Council finds that this Resolution is in the best interest and welfare of the citizens of the Village. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF KEY BISCAYNE, FLORIDA AS FOLLOIWS: Section 1. Recitals. That each of the above-stated recitals are hereby adopted, confirmed, and incorporated herein. Section 2. Approval. That the Village Council approves the payment of the additional expenditures by the Consultants in an amount not to exceed $15,000 for services related to the Festival. Page I of2 Section 3. Implementation. That the Village Council authorizes the Village Manager to take any and all actions necessary to implement the intent of this Resolution. Section 4. Effective Date. That this Resolution shall be effective immediately upon adoption. PASSED and ADOPTED this 1lth day of June, 2019.
