As you may know, the Division of Local Services Technical Assistance Section (TA) provides
professional, consultant -type services to Massachusetts cities and towns, at no cost.
In particular, our written, comprehensive financial management reviews offer analyses of
financial procedures and the effectiveness of checks and balances. We assess the impact of
technology and government structure on municipal operations. Our recommendations often
serve as a blueprint for resolving issues and achieving long-term stability.
According to our records, Watertown is among the remaining Massachusetts towns that have
never requested and received a full financial management review from the Division of Local
Services.
If you would like to avail yourself of this free state service, a written request to me from the
Town Council will secure a place on our waiting list for your community. To learn more about
