GREENCASTLE COMMON COUNCIL
SPECIAL SESSION
MONDAY, AUGUST 12, 2002 5:30 P.M.

The Greencastle Common Council met in Special Session Monday, August 12, 2002, 5:30 p.m.
at City Hall. Council President Hammer called the meeting to Order at 5:35 p.m. On the Roll
Call, the following were found to be present: Councilor Hammer, Councilor Sedlack, Councilor
Liechty and Councilor Rokicki. Councilor Roach was absent. Mayor Michael was late, arriving
at 5:45 p.m.
City Engineer Morrow was present to discuss the Engineering Budget. Councilor Hammer
stated this budget is up 24% from last year. After some discussion, the engineering budget was
approved as submitted in the amount of $69,086.00.

Cemetery Superintendent Randy Robinson was present to discuss the Cemetery Budget. The
budget was approved as submitted in the amount of $227,914.00.
Police Chief Hendrich was present to discuss the Police Department, Law Enforcement
Education and Police Pension Budgets. The police department budget was approved in the
amount of $903,372; LEE in the amount of $5,000.00 and Police Pension in the amount of
$100,397.00.
Mayor Michael stated she had Fire Chief Bill Newgent come to the meeting tonight to discuss
the Safety Officer. Councilor Sedlack stated this is not an agenda item and should not be
discussed at this time.
Motion to adjourn made at 6:50 p.m. by Councilor Sedlack, seconded by Councilor Hammer.
Vote was unanimous.
