AWARDING BID FOR CARTERET PIER EXTENSION PILE REMOVAL
WHEREAS, the Borough has publicly advertised for the receipt of bids for the Carteret Pier
Extension Pile Removal Project; and
WHEREAS, the Borough has solicited and received three (3) bid proposals for the Carteret Pier
Extension Pile Removal Project:
Total Bid Amount
1. J.T. Cleary, Inc. $ 85.260 00
2. J.E. Hannon, Inc. $ 88.200 00
3. Simpson & Brown, Inc. $ 102.460 00
WHEREAS, J.T Cleary, Inc., has submitted the lowest bid for said contract as evidenced by the
response on file with the Borough's Purchasing Department and with the Borough Engineer; and
WHEREAS, the Borough Engineer has reviewed the above bid proposals and has recommended
the award of a contract to J.T. Cleary, Inc, in a total amount not to exceed $85,260.00; and
WHEREAS, the Chief Financial Officer has certified that finds are or will be available for said
purpose.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Council of the Borough of
Carteret as follows:
1. That the appropriate Borough Officials are hereby authorized to enter into a
contract with J.T. Cleary, Inc., Chestnut Ridge, N.Y. for the Carteret Pier
Extension Pile Removal Project for the sum of $85,260.00 in accordance in all
respects with the request for proposals and bid on same.
2. That a copy of this Resolution shall be forwarded to the Borough's Purchasing
Department and Borough Engineer.
3. That the aforementioned award of bid is contingent upon formal approval from
the New Jersey Department of Labor, Division of wage and Hour Compliance.
