Home My Public Portal About2019-47 Approving the purchase of police laptop mounts and printers from United Data TechnologiesRESOLUTION NO. 2019.47 A CAPITAL PROJECT AUTHORIZING RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF KEY BISCAYNE, FLORIDA, APPROVING THE PURCHASE AND INSTALLATION OF POLICE LAPTOP MOUNTS AND PRINTERS FROM UNITED DATA TECHNOLOGIES, INC. BY UTILIZING ANOTHER GOVERNMENTAL CONTRACT; PROVIDING FOR AUTHORIZATION; PROVIDING FOR IMPLEMENTATION; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS' pursuant to Section 3.07(b) of the Village of Key Biscayne ("Village") Charter, the Village Council desires to authorize the expenditure of Village funds for a capital project consisting of the installation and purchase of laptop mounts and printers (the "Hardware") to facilitate the provision of day-to-day operations of the Village's Police Department (the "Department"); and WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-86 of the Village Code of Ordinances ("Village Code"), the Village may enter into bids or contracts entered into by another governmental authority, provided that the governmental authority has gone through a competitive bidding procedure leading to the award of the bid or contract in question; and WHERBAS, the type of purchase contemplated by the Village for the Hardware has been competitively bid and awarded by the U.S. General Services Administration, which makes its contract available to other govemments and which has entered into GSA Contract Number GS-35F-538GA ("GSA Contract"), with United Data Technologies, Inc. ("Contractor"); and WHEREAS, in accordance with Section 2-86 of the Village Code, the Village Council seeks to authorize the Village Manager to purchase the Hardware from the Contractor consistent with the terms and conditions of the GSA Contract and the Contractor's quote, attached hereto as "Exhibit "A" (the "Quote"); and 1 WHEREAS, the Village Council finds that this Resolution is in the best interest and welfare of the residents of the Village. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF KEY BISCAYNEO FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: Section I". Recitals. That each of the above-stated recitals are hereby adopted, confirmed, and incorporated herein. Section 2. Approval. That the Village Council approves the purchase of the Hardware. Section 3. Authorization. That the Village Council hereby authorizes the Village Manager to purchase the Hardware consistent with the Quote attached hereto as Exhibit "A" and the terms and conditions of the GSA Contract,inan amount not to exceed $37,000.00. Section 4. Implementation. That the Village Council hereby authorizes the Village Manager to execute any agreement, purchase order, or required documentation for the purchases described in this Resolution, subject to approval by the Village Attorney as to form and legality, and to take any action which is reasonably necessary to implement the purpose of this Resolution. The workspace must provide the following: '1) Protection from the elements / weather 2) At least one (and preferably two) stalls in which vehicles can be worked upon. 3) Compressed air (if necessary). 4) Access to the facility between the hours of 8 AM and 5 PM on workdays until the work is completed. UDT will provide a Certificate of lnsurance to VOKB at least 48 hours before the installations are to begin. UDT will provide its own tools for the execution of the installations. UDT is NOT Responsible for any loose items left inside of vehicles designated for installation. Please ensure that ALL loose items have been removed from each vehicle scheduled for install, and please ensure that all vehicles have a reasonably clean interior before work begins.
