HomeMy Public PortalAbout2011.215 (09-20-11) RESOLUTION NO. 2011.215 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD APPROVING THE APPLICATION FOR GRANT FUNDS FOR THE LYNWOOD WALKING PARK FOR A STATEWIDE PARK DEVELOPMENT AND COMMUNITY REVITALIZATION GRANT UNDER THE SAFE DRINKING WATER, WATER QUALITY AND SUPPLY, FLOOD CONTROL, RIVER AND COASTAL PROTECTION BOND ACT OF 2006 (PROPOSITION 84). WHEREAS, the State Department of Parks and Recreation has been delegated the responsibility by the Legislature of the State of California for the administration of the Statewide Park Program, setting up necessary procedures governing the Application; and WHEREAS, said procedures established by the State Department of Parks and Recreation require the applicant to certify by resolution the approval of its application before submission of said application to the State; and WHEREAS, the applicant will enter into a contract with the State of California to complete the grant scope project. NOW THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD DOES HEREBY FIND, DETERMINE, ORDER AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. The City Council does hereby approve the filing of an application for the STATEWIDE PARK PROGRAM GRANT FUNDS to assist in the development of the Lynwood Walking Park. Section 2. The City certifies that said applicant has or will have available, prior to commencement of any work on the project included in this application, the sufficient funds to complete the project. Section 3. The City certifies that the applicant has or will have sufficient funds to operate and maintain the project(s). Section 4. The City certifies that the applicant has reviewed, understands, and agrees to the General Provisions contained in the contract shown in the Grant Administration Guide. Section 5. The City agrees to comply with all applicable federal, state and local laws, ordinances, rules, regulations and guidelines. Section 6. The City Council authorizes the City Manager, or designee, as agent to conduct all negotiations, execute and submit all documents including, but not limited to applications, agreements, payment requests and so on, which may be necessary for the completion of the aforementioned project.
