AN APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE SUBMITTAL,
ACCEPTANCE, AND APPROPRIATION OF A GRANT FROM
THE UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE, BUREAU OF JUSTICE
ASSISTANCE, LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT BLOCK GRANT PROGRAM
WHEREAS, the United States Department of Justice, Bureau of Justice Assistance, Local Law Enforcement Block Grant Program has grant funding available; and
WHEREAS, The City of Richmond Police Department desires to submit a grant application to obtain funds that will be used for the purchase of new equipment; and
WHEREAS, a local match of Six Hundred Thirty-one Dollars and No Cents ($631.00) is required.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana, as follows:
1. The City of Richmond Police Department is authorized to prepare and submit a grant application to the United States Department of Justice, Bureau of Justice Assistance, Local Law
Enforcement Block Grant Program.
2. The City of Richmond Police Department is authorized to accept said grant funding in an amount up to Five Thousand Six Hundred Eighty-two Dollars and No Cents ($5,682.00).
3. Said funds, if awarded to the City of Richmond Police Department shall be appropriated to fund the purchase of new equipment.
Passed and adopted this 4th__ day of October_____ 2004, by the Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana.
