Woodland District D Councilor Watertown Town Council Administration Building 149 Main Street Watertown, MA 02472 Phone: 617-972-6470 PROCLAMATION WHEREAS: The Community Path Mural on a formerly blank wall between Forest Street and Whites Avenue is complete; and, WHEREAS: Many community members and organizations, under the leadership of the Bicycle -Pedestrian Committee and Watertown Citizens for Peace Justice and the Environment, participated in planning this project; and, WHEREAS: Watertown residents were invited to identify places that are special to them in Watertown; and, WHEREAS: The mural depicts scenes along an imaginary bicycle ride from east Watertown to the Path itself; and, WHEREAS: The mural was designed by muralist Gregg Bernstein, and painted by Watertown High School students Liana Aleksanyan, Sondos Alnamous, Faiza Amin, Marvin Aramthip, Issabela Carton, Julia Harrington, Emily Hart, Emmanuel Torres, Abi Vershbow and Veronica Torres; and, WHEREAS: The mural will officially be unveiled at a ribbon -cutting ceremony on September 22, 2013. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That the Town Council of the City known as the Town of Watertown extends it congratulations to everyone involved in this project and declares that September 22, 2013 is Watertown Community Path Mural Day.
