MINUTES:
In Attendance:Jennifer Allard,Cynthia Wigren,Ken Heritage, Hilary Johnson,Ken Johnson, &Ryan Smith_
• Call to Order:4:O4PM
• Review 2019 Parade(including thank you's)
o 7 submissions of Parade Questionnaire-all positive
• Feedback was very positive on Parade and very negative on Fireworks
• As we are"4th of July Committee", not"Parade Committee",there is a lot of confusion about if we
are running the fireworks,too.
• We(parade committee)would like to see the fireworks improved
o Suggestion to pick the theme earlier and announce it sooner
• Discussed how we would like to change the theme picking process
• Motion to modify the process of selecting the Parade Them
o Motion approved unanimously
o Discussed buying Cape Codder ad to thank people/participants
• Also to send letter to editor
• Motion to spend $500 on ads in local paper
o Motion approved unanimously
o Add an"acknowledgement page"to website to thank companies,families, Fire/Police,etc TO WEBSITE
• Review finances, including past due invoices,and procedure moving forward
o Motion to pay all outstanding invoices:
• Nauset Disposal
• Young&Fancy Signs
• Reimburse to Jennifer Allard for$1,200 for extraordinary artists- per invoices submitted to Town
• Motion to reimburse Jennifer Allard
o Motion approved unanimously
o Reiterated that any services contracted require a contract with the Town of Orleans
• Next Meeting:
o Draft marketing plan for monthly activities to keep community engaged
o Double down efforts to get more volunteers
o Review theme procedure
o Discuss timeline and assign responsibilities
o Review judging criteria
o Establish protocol in each area
• Set up one table to establish designated area with:
• Person in Charge
• Check-in &Number
• Free Coffee&Donuts- let people know about this
• Schedule meetings every third Tuesday of the month at 4:OOpm
o Next October 15.2019 4:O0PM
