SUMMARY STATEMENT:
Legislation went into effect on January 1, 2011 that establishes counties as the officials for all elections. Idaho Code §34-1205 and §34-1206 state that the county board of commissioners
shall be the county board of canvassers and the county clerk shall serve as their secretary for this purpose; and the board shall examine and make a statement of the total number of
votes cast for all candidates or special questions that shall have been voted upon at the election. Attached is the Valley County Board of Commissioners canvass results of the May 19,
2020 Special General Obligation Bond Election.
Idaho Code §50-1026 requires that a two-thirds (2/3) majority of the qualified electors voting at such election assent to the issuing of such bonds.
Also attached is Resolution 20-10 which ratifies the County Commissioners canvass of the May 19, 2020 Special General Obligation Bond Election
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Adopt Resolution 20-xx ratifying the Valley County Commissioners canvass of the May 19, 2020 Special General Obligation Bond Election and authorize the Mayor to sign all necessary documents.
