SUMMARY STATEMENT:
An ad ran in the Star-News to fill a current vacancy on the Library Board of Trustees. One letter of interest
was received by David Gallipoli. The Library Board voted unanimously on June 18, 2020 to recommend
Mr. Gallipoli for appointment. The City Manager has reviewed Mr. Gallipoli’s application and concurs with
the appointment recommendation.
The Library Board of Trustees advocates for the library and literacy, hires and evaluates the library director,
monitors overall effectiveness of the library as a social institution and sets library policies and plans strategic
goals to better serve the community. Trustees are volunteers who serve for a term of five years. Mr. Gallipoli
would finish the term of service in place of Mr. John Milliner, who has just moved out of state. Library
Trustees are recommended by current board members and appointed by the City Manager and confirmed
by City Council.
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Appoint David Gallipoli to the McCall Public Library Board of Trustees for a term to expire October,
2022.
