SUPPORTING ASSEMBLY BILLS A -331, A -7981S -1303, A -2506
AND OPPOSING ASSEMBLY BILLS A- 2596/S -1829 & S -96/A -2217
WHEREAS, Assembly Bill A -331, enacted by the Assembly Education Committee,
provides State transportation aid incentive to support shared services agreements between
municipalities and districts with efficient transportation systems for the provision of
public school hazardous busing; and
WHEREAS, Assembly Bill A- 798 /Senate Bill S -1303, enacted by the Assembly
Agriculture and Natural Resources Committee, revises penalties for animal cruelty,
increasing degree of certain offenses; designated as Patrick's Law; and
WHEREAS, Assembly Bill A -2506, enacted by the Assembly Telecommunications and
Utilities Committee, prohibits electric public utilities from imposing charges for costs
associated with light poles bearing solar panels placed by utility; and
WHEREAS, Assembly Bill A- 2596 /Senate Bill S -1829, enacted by the Assembly
Housing and Local Government Committee removes requirement for one and two - family
residences to be equipped with a portable fire extinguisher; and
WHEREAS, Senate Bill S -96/ Assembly Bill A -2217, enacted by the Assembly Housing
and Local Government Committee, establishes civil penalty for certain unlawful conduct;
and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Council of the Borough
of Carteret, County of Middlesex, State of New Jersey, as follows:
1. That the Borough of Carteret hereby supports Assembly Bills A -331,
A -798/8 -1303 and A -2506 released by the Senate and General Assembly.
2. That the Borough of Carteret hereby opposes Assembly Bill A- 2596/S-
1829 and Senate Bill S -96/A -2217 released by the Senate and General
Assembly.
3. That a copy of this Resolution be forwarded to the New Jersey League of
Municipalities.
