Ward, Henry Lilienthal, John G. Hupfel and Kathleen Kirton. Vice -Mayor Iglehart called the meeting to order. Mr. Hart moved that the minutes of the meeting held on May 9, 1969 be approved as written and the reading of these minutes be waived. Mr. Hoyle seconded the motion. Motion passed. Fir. Hart moved that the Financial Report for May, 1969 be approved as written and all expenses included in the report be approved. Mr. Hoyle seconded the motion. Motion passed. A letter from Mr. Benjamin Foster was read requesting the re- location of a five foot drainage easement from the North line of Lot 21, Gulf Stream Cove to the South line of said lot. Mr. Hart moved that the request be granted. Mr. Hoyle seconded the motion. Motion passed. A letter from Mrs. Pauline Holden Lewis was read complaining about the discolored water at her residence. The Town Clerk stated that upon receipt of the letter he had the mains flushed out. It was also pointed out that lines and connections on Mrs. Lewis property might also contribute to the water discoloration. Police reports for May were read. The Town Clerk reported that a price of $2,715.00 had been received to resurface Banyan Road between Gulf Stream Road and Polo Drive in order to tie the road level into the existing catch basins. For doing the same on Polo Drive between Banyan Road and Old School Road the price would be $3,425.00. Hardrives, Inc. submitted the prices and stated they would include tieing in the existing driveways but did not include any landscape or sod work. The Commissioners felt the cost for the above should be shared to some extent by the benefited property owners and directed the Town Clerk to get a breakdown on the cost figures for the work. The Town Clerk reported that Mayor Koch had been in contact with Ocean Ridge officials regarding the renewal of the fire contract. There are presently 26 volunteers serving the fire department and they would like to have additional volunteers from Gulf Stream. A notice will be included with the next water bills to see if any residents are interested in this and Mr. Hart stated he would in- clude this in the Civic letter. The Town Clerk reported that due to recent State legislation, the Town's revenue in the future from taxation would be reduced due to the exemptions for co -ops and condominiums and also the elimination of personal property taxes on residences. COMEISSION MEETING, June 13, 1969 Page 2 Mr. Hupfel asked that something be done to slow down the boats in the Intracoastal Waterway. He pointed out that the wakes are causing damage to property along the waterway and suggested a five mile per hour speed limit for boats through the Town limits. The Town Clerk reported that the County is now in the process of getting signs made to post along waterways in the County and they are supposed to include the Town in this project. Also the Sheriff's boat patrol is to make spot checks on boat traffic in the area. The Town Clerk was directed to contact officials from Delray Beach and determine if some arrangement might be made with them to extend the Delray Beach patrol boat's activity into the Town and also to get prices on signs to be put up in the Town to control boat traffic. There being no further business to come before the Commission, the meeting was adjourned. Box 255 Delray Beach, Florida 33444 Gentlemen: I am enclosing herein a survey of property I have under contract wherein I request your cooperation in abandoning the easement as indicated between Lots 20 and 21, Gulf Stream Cove. In return, I am agreeable to giving the Town a new easement on the south 5 feet of Lot 21, as shown in .red on the survey. My reason for asking the change in location of the easement is that I am planning to build a house on the property, and the existing easement would greatly restrict the use of my property. Thank you in advance for your kind consideration of my request. Sincerely yours, Benin Foster BF:p Encl. June 13, 1969 Mr. Benjamin Foster Y.U. Box 59 Ambler, 6ennsylvania Dear Fir. Foster: I am pleased to inform you that the Town Commission at its meeting today approved your request for a change in the drainage easement located on Lot 21, Gulf Stream Cove. After you take title to the property, if you will execute an Easement Deed for the new location and send it to me I will then present it to the Commission and have a Resolution prepared whereby the Town will abandon the existing easement. Thank you very much. Yours very truly, RICHARD F. WARD DEPUTY TG4vN CLERK C I PAULINE IIOLDEN LEWIS 2525 NORTH OCEAN Botn.>;cARR DELRAY BEACH, FLORIDA 33444 Dear Mr. Ward, This is to place a complaint about the water in Gulf Stream. Several p1utbers have been in my employ and will send letters to you about the condition of the water, lt7Y fourth attempt of cess pools has been dust another disaster. For my contractor to +-ake off with money and tickets for parking In front of my property is a disgrace to anyone with intelligence. I don't pretend to be more clever than y -ur over - seers,..but I must have some rights to living properly where I pay taxes. My children and I don't bother anyone. Never in East Holden, Maine where we live in the Summer have we ever had to live with the problems here .... it has to be some kind of a yoke. I did get rid of the Family dog to keep peace. If people can't get around workmen's cars then it is sad to have to fire help here. Maybe they need the money to live on and there has always been someone to go out and help other drivers get by when they do have several feet each side. Could yrur Board make some suggestion..I wanted to buy with M , Staley and my bid was not even consid- ered. What more can I do? Will you please have the Board consider this letter and will you please write to me in Maine. r, CeuiS Scufh R /!,✓ M,rld' / Road //5.23;y rAo rl Goc• & J v tar ao LOT 5'E4S,6ME1V7— FOR 0RA11VAGX ONLY k r rl t O 1 r i V it d ib F SCE► ft41t'f !T 13/ 22' CROSS CUT 1,R gra16Waad ply N I C t Q O z l., Survey of: Lot 21, and part of Lot 20, Gulf-stream Cdve, Gulf- strear,.Florida.
