NOTICE -The Town council of Wellsburg of Grundy County,
Iowa, will meet August 5, 1963, at 8:00 p.m, at Town Hall.
Taxpayers will be heard for or against the following estimate of
expenditures for the year beginning January 1, 1964.
A detailed statement of receipts and disbursements, both past and
anticipated will be available at the hearing.

The Austinville Christian Re-
formed Church was the scene of.
the wedding of Miss Mary Rops
and Junior Ascher, Wednesday
evening, August 14 at 8 p.m. TL•e
Rev. Warne Gritter officiated at
the double ring ceremony. Baskets
of blue carnations and white mums
and blue candelabra decorated the
altar and blue bows marked the
pews.
Mrs. Wendlyn Lindaman was
organist and .accompanied James
Enge]kes as he sang "The Lord's
Pr�.yer" and "The Wedding Pray-
er"
DIiss Ta'x•ances Rops, sister of the
bride. was maid of honor. Brides-
maids were Miss .Rops' sisters,
Mrs. Arlo Dougan of Iowa Falls,
Mrs. Eugene Bering and Mrs. Don-
ald Harken of Ackley. Laurie
Harken and Julie Beving, nieces
of the bride, were the flower girls.
The bride, daughter of Mrs.
John Rops of Austinville and the
Annabelle Ascher and Dennis
hops served as candlelighters.
For her daughter's wedding,
Mrs. Rops wore a navy blue x•ib-
bon knit dress with white acces-
sories. The groom's mother wore
a beige chiffon print dress with
beige accessories. Both mothers
wore white carnation corsages.
Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Rops of
Cedar Rapids were host and host-
ess for the reception which fol-
lowed with 150 guests present. The
five tiered wedding cake with blue
and white trimming and a crystal
crown wedding cake top was cut
by Mrs. Mae Jacobs and Mrs. Ev-
erett Dietz. Mrs. Robert Henkle
poured coffee and Mrs. John Ring-
ena served punch. Serving as
waitresses at the bride's table
were Misses Joyce Hoodjer, Rarla
Snyder and Linda Koch. The cen-
terpiece on the bride's table was
a floral bououet of white ;gladioli
and blue carnations.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
ON PROPOSED PLANS, AATD
SPECIFICATIONS AND PRO-
POSED FORM OF CONTRACT,
FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF
A STORAGE BUILDING, IN THE
TOWN OF WELLSBURG, IOWA, I,
AND THE TAKING OF BIDS �
FOR SUCH IMPROVEMENTS.
Sealed proposals will be received
by the Town Clerk of the Town of
Wellsburg, Iowa, at his office in
said Town until 8:00 o'clock P.M.
on the 9 day of September, 1963,
for the construction of a storage
building as described in the plans
and specifications therefor now on
file in the office of the Town
Clerk. Proposals will be acted upon I'
by the Town Council of said Town ':
at a meting to be held in the Coun- i
cil Chambers, Wellsburg, Iowa, on
the hour and day above specified,
or at such later time as may then
be fixed. At said time and place, '
a hearing will be held on the pro-
posed plans and specifications and
proposed form of contract for said
improvements and at: said hearing
znv interested person may appear
and file objections thereto or to
the cost of said improvements.
DIVISION I —Construction of
a Block Building approximately
40 by 50 feet.
Each proposal shall be made on
a form furnished by the Town and
must be accompanied by a check,
certified by an Iowa bank and filed
in an envelope separate from the
ones containing the proposal, sealed
and in an amount equal to ten per
cent (lOP/c) of the amount of the
proposal, made payable to the
Town Treasurer of the Town of
Waterloo, Mi•. and Mrs. Charles
Meints, Mr. and Mrs. John Kruse
and David, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas
Schafer and family, and Tena
Schafer. Donald Main and the
Larry Kruses were unable to be
present. The Bakers returned
home this week after a visit here.
Tuesday evening guests in the
Wayne Aukes home were Mrs.
Helen Huisman, Dale Aukes, and
Mr. and LVIrs. Kempton Walbaum

said plans and specifications may
be obtained from the Town Clerk,
Wellsburg, Iowa, upon payment of
$5.00, all of which will be refund-
ed, provided a bonafide bid is sub-
mitted.
The work under the proposed
contract shall be commenced and
completed as follows:
Commenced on or before Sept.
18, 1963.
Completed on or before Nov.
1, 1963
DIVISION I
By virtue of statutory author-
ity, apreference will be given to

products and provisions grown and
coal producted within the State of
Iowa and to Iowa domestic labor.
The contractor will be paid inter-
est on all unpaid sums from date
of acceptance of work until pay-
ment is made by the Town at the
rate of four per cent (4%) per
annum. Contractors must submit
bids in strict accordance with the
proposal form. The Town reserves
the right to reject any or all pro-
posaIs and to waive informalities.

Notice is hereby given that a
plat and schedule are now on file
in the office of the Town Clerk of
the Town of Wellsburg, Iowa,
showing assessments proposed to
�e made for and on account of the
cast of construction of 30" con-
crete curb and gutter in the Town
of Wellsburg, Iowa, as follows,
to -wit:
Fourth Street from 1Vladison
to Lincoln Street
against all properties located
within said benefited area, the
same being abutting and adjacent
properties to said street improve-
ments and being all properties
within 300 feet of said street or
such properties abutting• the said
street and half way to the next
street; said plat and schedule show-
ing the separate lots and parcels
of ground proposed to be assessed
for the cost of said improvements,
the names of the owners thereof,
so far as known, and the amount
to be assessed against each lot or
parcel of ground and against rail-
way or street railway companies
assessable therefor. Within twenty
days after publication of this No-
tice, all objections to said assess-
ment or to the prior proceedings
on account of errors, irregulari-
ties or inequalities must be made
in writing and filed with the City
,Clerk, and any objections not so
made shall be deemed waived.
