Council President ORDINANCE dS Vincent J.Piceirilli,Jr., 0 Vice President Michael F.Dattoli, Councilor At Large WHEREAS,Title V of the Watertown Code of Ordinances,Public Works, Chapter 55, Aaron P.Dushku, Curbs and Sidewalks, Section 55.02, Sidewalk Requirements, regulates the construction Councilor At Large and installation of sidewalks in the Town. Insert new Section 55.02(i) as follows: Lisa J.Feltner, (i) In the case of selective sidewalk repairs, where there is no curb to create a District E Councilor barrier, and addition of a curb is not planned and where there is currently no grass planting strip, the default treatment is to create a planting strip, however, Kenneth M.woodland,District D Councilor the Superintendent of Public Works shall have discretion on whether to plant grass or restore asphalt (or other similar treatment) as the border between the sidewalk and the street. i C uncil Member I hereby certify that at a regular meeting of the Town Council for which a quorum was present, the above Ordinance was adopted by a roll call vote of 9 for,._() against, and d present on September 27, 2016 Marily Pronovost, Council Clerk Mark S. $deris/Council President Watertown Town Council = r: Administration Building 149 Main Street Watertown, MA 02472 ELECTED OFFICIALS: y^Q Phone: 617-972.6470 Mark S.Sideris, ROSOhUtIOn# �7 / Council President R-2016- (� 9 Vincent J.Piccirilli,Jr., A RESOLUTION SUPPORTING THE Vice President IMPLEMENTATION OF A REMOTE PARTICIPATION POLICY Michael F.Dattoli, Councilor At Large WHEREAS,the Town Council of the City known as the Town of Watertown recognizes Aaron P.Dushku, the need to adjust to evolving technologies; and Councilor At Large WHEREAS,the availability of such technologies permits greater remote connectivity Susan G.Falkof,, between individuals and groups, allowing advanced opportunities for communication and Councilor At Large participation in public meetings;and Anthony Palomba, Councilor At Large WHEREAS,the ability for members of public bodies to remotely participate in public Angeline B.Kounclis, meetings is becoming more widely accepted in the Commonwealth; and District A Councilor Lisa J.Feltner, WHEREAS,remote participation by members of public bodies in public meeting is District B Councilor allowable under the regulations promulgated by the Office of the Attorney General as found at 940 CMR 29.10 relative to the administration of the Open Meeting Law; and Kenneth M.Woodland, District D Councilor WHEREAS,the Town Council's Committee on Rules and Ordinances examined said regulations and submit that said regulations provide an acceptable process for remote participation by the Town Council and other public bodies of the Town of Watertown; and WHEREAS,the Town of Watertown is in possession of the proper equipment to implement such a process; and WHEREAS,the Watertown Town Council and other public bodies of the Town of Watertown may benefit from the implementation of a policy permitting remote participation in public meetings; and WHEREAS,the Town Manager, as the Chief Executive Officer of the Town of Watertown, has the authority to implement such a policy pursuant to the regulations enacted by the Attorney General.
