A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD
AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE AMENDMENT NO. 1 TO THE INTER-
AGENCY COUNTYWIDE SIGNAL PRIORITY MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING
(MOU) BETWEEN THE CITY OF LYNWOOD AND THE LOS ANGELES COUNTY
METROPOLITAN TRANSIT AUTHORITY (MTA)
WHEREAS, MTA is expanding the Metro Rapid Red Line Bus Service on the
Atlantic Avenue Corridor that will operate through the City of Lynwood; and
WHEREAS, this new service is of regional and local benefit to commuters; and
WHEREAS, operations of the Metro Rapid bus line require MTA to install
electronic equipment at various intersections and interfacing with the City's traffic
control devices; and
WHEREAS, for MTA to operate the Metro Rapid Red bus line service as
designed Amendment No.1 to Inter-Agency Countywide Signal Priority MOU must be
executed between the City and MTA.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD DOES
HEREBY FIND, PROCLAIM, ORDER, AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to execute the Amendment
No. 1 to the Inter-Agency Countywide Signal Priority Memorandum of Understanding
between the City of Lynwood and the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Rapid Transit
Authority (MTA) in a form to be approved by the City Attorney.
Section 2. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
Section 3. The City Clerk shall certify as to the adoption of this City Council
Resolution.
PASSED, APPROVED and ADOPTED this 4 day of October, 2011.
