A RESOLUTION SUPPORTING THE HIGHER EDUCATION COUNCIL'S
PROPOSAL TO PURCHASE PROPERTY AT 125 WEST 200 SOUTH
WHEREAS, the Higher Education Council wishes to expand current offerings for the
community; and
WHEREAS, by purchasing the property currently occupied by Utah State University and
the College of Eastern Utah and adjacent units for the provision of higher education
programs, these institutions will be able to obtain funding for operation and maintenance
of the facility; and
WHEREAS, through this plan, funds now spent for facility rental will be made available
for program expansion which will include business incubation and development,
NOW, THEREFORE, WE, THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF MOAB do
hereby express our support for the Higher Education Council's proposal to purchase said
property.
Passed and adopted by action of the Goveming Body of the City of Moab in open session
