HomeMy Public PortalAboutRES-CC-1999-23Resolution 23-99 A RESOLUTION ADOPTING CHANGES IN THE CITY OF MOAB SEWER RATE STRUCTURE. Whereas, as of November 1, 1999, the Moab Municipal Code Section 13.24.020 will provide that the Sewer Rate Structure be adopted by Resolution; and Whereas, revenues for the Sewer Department are currently more than sufficient to cover all operational and debt service requirements of the Wastewater Treatment Plant and city sewer system; and Whereas, the Fund Balance for the Water and Sewer Fund is sufficient to cover anticipated Capital Projects for the Sewer Department for the near term; and Whereas, the City Council has determined that an approximate 23% decrease in the residential sewer rate would reduce Sewer Department revenues to a level still more than sufficient to cover operational and debt service requirements; NOW THEREFORE, WE, THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF MOAB DO HEREBY RESOLVE TO ADOPT THE FOLLOWING SEWER RATE STRUCTURE: A: Standard Rates Account Type 1. Single Family Residential Dwellings 2. Multiple Unit Residential Complexes 3. Cotmercial Establishments 4. Governmental Entities and Institutions Monthly Rate $8.65 and $1.00 per thousand gallons of the average monthly winter water usage rate $8.65 per unit and $1.00 per thousand gallons of the average monthly winter water usage rate $ 11.25 and $1.15 per thousand gallons of water used $11.25 and $1.15 per thousand gallons of water used 5. Single Family Dwellings Not Connected to $13.05 City water system 6. Multiple Unit Residential Complexes Not $13.05 per unit Connected to City water system 7. Commercial Establishments Not $55.00 Connected to City water system 8. Governmental Entities and Institutions Not $42.00 Connected to City water system Sewer Rate Resolution Page I of 2 B. Individual Rate Calculation In cases in which the City Manager determines that the standard rate or formula as defined in this chapter produce an inaccurate or inappropriate charge, the City Manager may calculate the sewer rate based on other available information, providing that the rates calculated must be equitable with respect to users in the system, subject to Council approval. This resolution shall take effect on November 1, 1999. Passed and adopted by action of the Governing Body of Moab City in open session this I2'h day of October, 1999.
