CARTERET, NEW JERSEY
WHEREAS, the Governing Body has determined that there is no longer any public
need for, and that it is in the interest of the Borough to vacate Virginia Avenue
extending from the Easterly Intersection with Post Boulevard extending in an eastern
direction 50 feet; and
BE IT ORDAINED by the Mayor and Council of the Borough of Carteret, County
of Middlesex and State of New Jersey, as follows:
1. The above described portion of Virginia Avenue be and hereby is
vacated as provided by statute, including N.J.S.A. 40:49-2; 40:49-6
and 40:67-2l.
2. The Borough Clerk is hereby directed to file a copy of this Ordinance
and proof of publication of this Ordinance with the Coumy Clerk's
Office as required by N.J.S.A. 4067-21.
As provided by N.J.S.A. 40:49-6, at least one week prior to final passage of this
Ordinance, a copy of the proposed Ordinance, together with notice of its introduction
shall be mailed by the Borough Clerk to every person whose land may be effected by
this Ordinance.
This Ordinance shall take effect twenty (20) days after the first publication hereof
after final passage.
