Subject:Ch 5 - IA Checks December - Gulf Stream PD
Good evening,
Pursuant to Article I, section 24 of the Florida Constitution and Chapter 119, Florida Statutes, I request an opportunity to
inspect and copy the following public records:
Records which show all officers who retired, were placed on paid or unpaid administrative leave, who were suspended,
or fired from December 1, 2018 to date request is complete.
I am also requesting a facesheet or summary of all internal affairs investigations that were closed between December 1,
2018 to date request is complete. Please include summaries for ALL investigations, including, but not limited to: internal
affairs investigations, citizen complaints, personnel complaints, division level investigations, use of force investigation,
display of firearm reports and discipline review requests. Please also include any disciplinary attachments along with the
summary.
If you deny this request in whole or in part, I request that you advise me in writing, as required by section 119.07(1)(e)
and (f), Fla. Stat., of the particular statutory exemption upon which you are relying and that you state with particularity
the reasons for your conclusion that the record is exempt. If an asserted exemption applies to only a portion of a record,
please delete the portion that you claim is exempt and release the remainder of the record as required by section
119.07(1)(d).
WPTV will pay for the “actual cost of duplication” of the public records as defined by Florida Statutes, section
119.011(1). Please advise me of these costs before taking any billable steps.
In light of the nature and importance of the records, I request that the records be made available immediately, and in an
electronic format if possible. If any questions arise please contact me. Please confirm receipt of this request.
Sincerely,
Merris Badcock
