I'll check this out when I venture out, possible later this afternoon. In a situation like this, as landscaping work doesn't require a GA licensed landscape architect or any other design professional, I don't believe we have any basis to require certification by a GA registered design professional. I do recommend we get certification from landscaping contractors in situations such as these. I'm thankful such situations are rare. Basically, a statement from Bill stating that to the drainage pattern existing prior to his work remains should be acceptable. As such, I recommend either correction or a certification from a GA registered design professional stating that there is positive flow. Due to the flat grade, I could be wrong and I welcome a 2nd professional designer's opinion. While this may seem petulant to some, one of the purposes of our rules is to avoid unwarranted drainage related nuisances by neighbors to each other. I have no issue with a permit being issued for the work proposed provided the existing drainage relief is maintained. However, I seriously doubt that Vicki would want a sloping brick patio with a swale through it. So, you may want to confer with her Engineer (not mandatory) or revisit the site yourself. I'll accept a hand drawn drainage modification plan, which could be a markup of your existing plan. As an asbuilt was not provided for the initial site improvements for the house, I doubt one would be required for your patio and landscaping plans. For the record, Please confirm you're still a registered LA. While it may not be a requirement, if you're such a design professional, registered in the state of Georgia, it will simplify a few things. Bill, the swale doesn't flow as shown on the design plan. A slight swale was added on the north side to carry runoff flowing counterclockwise from the rear. Mark Boswell, the Engineer, will well remember this. It took a couple of inspections and the end result was barely passable. I have no issue with a permit being issued for the work proposed provided the existing drainage relief is maintained. However, I seriously doubt that Vicki would want a sloping brick patio with a swale through it. So, you may want to confer with her Engineer (not mandatory) or revisit the site yourself. Pll accept a hand drawn drainage modification plan, which could be a markup of your existing plan. As an asbuilt was not provided for the initial site improvements for the house, I doubt one would be required for your patio and landscaping plans. For the record, Please confirm you're still a registered LA.
