A RESOLUTION SUPPORTING THE REINSTATEMENT OF FUNDING FOR
ASSOCIATION OF GOVERNMENTS PLANNING PROGRAMS.
WHEREAS, the City of Moab depends to a great extent upon the plamung services of the
Southeastem Utah Association of Governments to assist in the revision of land use
ordinances and other land use decisions; and
WHEREAS, funding for Association of Governments' planning programs was
significantly reduced during the last legislative session, with the recommendation that
such funding be zeroed out in the forthcoming session, and
WHEREAS, Govemor Michael O. Leavitt, in response to expressions of concern by
communities dependent upon the regional AOG planning programs, proposes to request
full reinstatement of planning funding for the AOGs,
NOW, THEREFORE, WE, THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF MOAB do
hereby express our support of the Governor's efforts on behalf of commumties and
counties in rural Utah, in recognition of their planning needs
Passed and adopted by action of the Governing Body of the City of Moab in open session
