RESOLUTION NO. 20-9819
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF OPA-LOCKA, FLORIDA, ADOPTING THE
ELECTION RESULTS OF THE CITY OF OPA-LOCKA
GENERAL ELECTION HELD ON NOVEMBER 3, 2020, FOR
THE PURPOSE OF ELECTING TWO CITY
COMMISSIONERS; PROVIDING FOR THE ADOPTION OF
REPRESENTATIONS; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE
DATE
WHEREAS, the Miami -Dade County Canvassing Board has examined the
election results of the City of Opa-locka held on November 3, 2020 and certified said
results, and
WHEREAS, the Supervisor of Elections has declared the election results to be
proper and correct, having counted and has forwarded the results to the City of
Opa-locka; and
WHEREAS, the total number of votes cast for the Opa-locka City
Commissioner was 7,198 and the winners are set forth in attached Exhibit "A";
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF OPA-LOCKA, FLORIDA:
Section 1. ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing whereas
paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are
hereby made a specific part of this Resolution.
Section 2. RATIFICATION OF RESULTS: The City Commission of the City
of Opa-locka hereby ratifies the results of the election as certified by Miami -
Dade County Supervisor of Elections.
Section 3. EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately
upon adoption.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 19th day of November, 2020.
