COUNCIL MINUTES
SECOND BUDGET HEARING - SEPTEMBER 19, x000
The Second Budget Hearing of Bal Harbour Village was held on Tuesday, September 19,
2000, in the Council Chamber at Bal Harbour Village Hall. The meeting was called to order
at 5:15 p.m. by Mayor Hirschl. The roll was called and those present were:

As a quorum was determined to be present, the meeting commenced.
X. Pledge of Allegiance: The Pledge of Allegiance was led by the
members of the Village Council.
3. Announcement: Mayor Hirschl announced that Bal Harbour Village's
rolled -back millage rate is 3.11 mills. The proposed millage rate is 3.11 mills, which is 0%
greater than the rolled -back rate.
q. Discussion of Final Tax Millage Rate and Discussion
of Final Budgets: Discussion was held on the final millage rate and final budgets.
s. Resolution - Adoption of Final Millage Rate: A resolution
was read by title, by the Village Clerk, adopting the final millage rate for fiscal year
2000/2001.
A motion was offered by Councilman Roth and seconded by Councilman Gorson to approve the
resolution adopting a final millage rate for fiscal year 2000/2001. The motion carried with the
vote as follows: Mayor Hirschl aye; Assistant Mayor Tantleff aye; Councilman Boggess aye;
Councilman Gorson aye; Councilman Roth aye. Thus becoming:

RATE FOR FISCAL YEAR 2000/2001; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
6. Ordinances Second Reading/Public Hearings:
An ordinance was read by title, by the Village Clerk, adopting a General Fund Budget for
fiscal year 2000/2001.

The public hearing was opened by Mayor Hirschl. There being no comments, Mayor
Hirschl closed the public hearing.
A motion was offered by Councilman Roth and seconded by Councilman Boggess to approve the
ordinance adopting a General Fund Budget for fiscal year 2000/2001. The motion carried with
the vote as follows: Mayor Hirschl aye; Assistant Mayor Tantleff ave; Councilman Boggess aye;
Councilman Gorson aye; Councilman Roth ave. Thus becoming:

ORDINANCE OF BAL HARBOUR VILLAGE ADOPTING A BUDGET FOR THE
GENERAL FUND FOR THE PERIOD OF OCTOBER 1, 2000, TO SEPTEMBER 30, 2001, IN
THE AMOUNT OF $5,535,983; AUTHORIZING EXPENDITURES; ESTABLISHING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
An ordinance was read by title, by the Village Clerk, adopting a budget for the Water
Department for fiscal year 2000/2001.
The public hearing was opened by Mayor Hirschl. There being no comments, Mayor
Hirschl closed the public hearing.
A motion was offered by Councilman Roth and seconded by Assistant Mayor Tantleff to approve
the ordinance adopting a budget for the Water Department for fiscal year 2000/2001. The motion
carried with the vote as follows: Mayor Hirschl aye; Assistant Mayor Tantleff ave; Councilman
Boggess aye; Councilman Gorson aye; Councilman Roth aye. Thus becoming:

ORDINANCE OF BAL HARBOUR VILLAGE ADOPTING A BUDGET FOR THE WATER
DEPARTMENT FOR THE PERIOD OF OCTOBER 1, 2000, TO SEPTEMBER 30, 2001, IN
THE AMOUNT OF $1,082,370; AUTHORIZING EXPENDITURES; ESTABLISHING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
An ordinance was read by title, by the Village Clerk, adopting a Sanitary Sewer Department
Budget for fiscal year 2000/2001.
The public hearing was opened by Mayor Hirschl. There being no comments, Mayor
Hirschl closed the public hearing.
A motion was offered by Councilman Roth and seconded by Councilman Gorson to approve the
ordinance adopting a budget for the Sanitary Sewer Department for fiscal year 2000/2001. The
motion carried with the vote as follows: Mayor Hirschl ave; Assistant Mayor Tantleff aye;
Councilman Boggess ave; Councilman Gorson aye; Councilman Roth aye. Thus becoming:

ORDINANCE OF BAL HARBOUR VILLAGE ADOPTING A BUDGET FOR THE
SANITARY SEWER DEPARTMENT FOR THE PERIOD OF OCTOBER 1, 2000, TO
SEPTEMBER 30, 2001, IN THE AMOUNT OF $1,640,581; AUTHORIZING
EXPENDITURES; ESTABLISHING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.

of Tourism for fiscal year 2000/2001.
The public hearing was opened by Mayor Hirschl. There being no comments, Mayor
Hirschl closed the public hearing.
A motion was offered by Councilman Roth and seconded by Assistant Mayor Tantleff to approve
the ordinance adopting a budget for the Department of Tourism for fiscal year 2000/2001. The
motion carried with the vote as follows: Mayor Hirschl ave; Assistant Mayor Tantleff ave;
Councilman Boggess ave: Councilman Gorson ave: Councilman Roth ave. Thus becoming:

ORDINANCE OF BAL HARBOUR VILLAGE ADOPTING A BUDGET FOR THE
DEPARTMENT OF TOURISM FOR THE PERIOD OF OCTOBER 1, 2000, TO SEPTEMBER
30, 2001, IN THE AMOUNT OF $4,035,323; AUTHORIZING EXPENDITURES;
ESTABLISHING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
7. Ad Darn: There being no further business to come before the Council,
a motion was offered by Councilman Roth and seconded by Assistant Mayor Tantleff to adjourn.
The motion carried unanimously (5-0), and the meeting adjourned at 5:20 p.m.
