REGULAR MEETING OF THE PERSONNEL BOARD
OCTOBER 20, 2011
The regular meeting of the Personnel Board of the City of Lynwood was held on
Thursday, October 20, 2011 at 5:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers of City Hall,
11330 Bullis Road, Lynwood, California. The agenda was duly posted as
prescribed by the Brown Act.
CALL TO ORDER
The meeting was called to order at 5:02 p.m. by Chairperson Robinson. Roll call
was taken by Alfredo Lopez, HR Director.
Commissioner. Attendance:
Present — Bradley, Robinson; Esparza; Espinoza; and Perez
Staff Present:
Alfredo Lopez, HR Director; Yolanda Delgadillo, HR Analyst
PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE
Led by Commissioner Esparza.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
The motion was made by Commissioner Esparza and seconded by Vice -Chair
Espinoza to approve the minutes of the regular meeting of September 15, 2011. All
in favor. Motion carried.
PUBLIC ORALS
Mr. Miguel Figueroa, resident of Lynwood living at 3925 Norton Ave., spoke during
public comment requesting permission to have his daughter read a letter addressed
to the Board. The Board then agreed to accept submission of the document for the
file. The document requested the assistance of the Board to regain his employment
with the City of Lynwood. Mr. Figueroa's daughter read the letter to the Board and
provided the Board with a copy for the file.
Mr. Figueroa was advised by the Board that there are appeal procedures that an
individual needs to follow, and they informed him that he needed to review the
rules and regulations. Mr. Lopez advised the Board that the item was not
calendared and informed Mr. Figueroa that he was not eligible to appeal this matter
as he was failed on probation for violating City policies. Mr. Figueroa thanked the
Board for listening and indicated that he would review his City paperwork.

INFORMATIONAL ITEMS
Mr. Lopez provided the Board with an update on the current recruitments. He also
asked if any of the Board members were interested in assisting with the written
examination for the position of Account Clerk scheduled for Tuesday, October 25
and Wednesday, October 26 at Bateman Hall.
COMMISSIONER & STAFF ORALS
Vice - Chairperson Espinoza inquired about the contact information for the Hub -
Cities Program.
Chairperson Robinson inquired about obtaining a copy of the 2011 -2012 Budget.
CLOSED SESSION
The Board adjourned to closed session at 5:25 pm and reported out at 5:32pm.
The Eligibility List for the position of Information Systems Technician was approved.
All favor. Motion carried.
ADJOURNMENT
Commissioner Bradley made the motion to adjourn and Vice -chair Espinoza
seconded. The meeting adjourned at 5:35 p.m. All in favor. Motion carried.
