DRAFT MINUTES
1. ROLL CALL: A regular meeting of the Town Council was called to order at 7:15
pm, in the Richard E. Mastrangelo Council Chamber, Administration Building.
Present for the meeting were Councilors John A. Donohue, Susan G. Falkoff,
Anthony Palomba, Angeline B. Kounelis, Cecilia Lenk, Vincent J. Piccirilli, Jr., Vice
President Stephen P. Corbett and Council President Mark S. Sideris. Councilor
Woodland was absent. Also present were the Town Manager Michael J. Driscoll
and Council Clerk Valerie Papas. Attorney Mark Reich was absent.
2. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE
3. EXAMINATION OF MINUTES: April 10th. Councilor Piccirilli moved the
minutes of April 10th, seconded by Councilor Lenk and adopted by unanimous voice
vote with Councilors John A. Donohue, Susan G. Falkoff, Anthony Palomba,
Angeline B. Kounelis, Cecilia Lenk, Vincent J. Piccirilli, Jr., Vice President Stephen
P. Corbett and Council President Mark S. Sideris voting in the affirmative.
4. PUBLIC FORUM: None noted.
5. PRESIDENT'S REPORT: None noted.
6. PRESENTATION OF PROCLAMATION: Recognizing Veterans of World War II.
The Chair indicated that he presented a proclamation recognizing Veterans of World
War II on Saturday during a celebration at the Hibernian Hall. Councilor Kounelis
moved to adopt the proclamation, seconded by Councilor Lenk and adopted by
unanimous voice vote with Councilors John A. Donohue, Susan G. Falkoff, Anthony
Palomba, Angeline B. Kounelis, Cecilia Lenk, Vincent J. Piccirilli, Jr., Vice President
Stephen P. Corbett and Council President Mark S. Sideris voting in the affirmative.
The Manager announced the appointment of Ms. Gina Rada as the new Veterans Agent.
He noted that Ms. Rada has six years of experience in the US Air Force as an Aerospace
Medical Service Technician and has served in Afghanistan in support of Operation
Enduring Freedom.
7. NEW BUSINESS: None noted.
8. COMMUNICATIONS FROM THE TOWN MANAGER:
a) Submission of the Fiscal Year 2013 Budget. The Town Manager provided an
overview of the proposed Fiscal Year 2013 Budge which is available on the Town's
website.
The Chair thanked the Manager and his budget team for the presentation and announced
the following budget hearing dates: May 14th, May 22nd, May 29th, May 31St and June
5th; with a time to be determined.
9. REQUESTS FOR INFORMATION:
Councilor Kounelis requested that Coolidge Square be included in the installation of
LED light bulbs. She thanked Mr. Mee, Mr. Baptista and Mr. Aeillo for their work on
parking meters on Wells Avenue.
10. ANNOUNCEMENTS:
Councilor Palomba announced a Wellness Faire on Saturday, May 28th from 9-12 at
Moxley Field and the Middle School; an annual Bike Collection on Saturday, May 28th
at First Parish Church; a "What are Teens Thinking" Forum on Wednesday, May 2nd
from 6:30-8:30 pm at Watertown High School.

12. ADJOURNMENT: there being no further business to come before the Town
Council, Councilor Piccirilli moved to adjourn the meeting at 8:30 pm, seconded by
Councilor Lenk and adopted by unanimous voice vote with Councilors John A.
Donohue, Susan G. Falkoff, Anthony Palomba, Angeline B. Kounelis, Cecilia Lenk,
Vincent J. Piccirilli, Jr., Vice President Stephen P. Corbett and Council President Mark
S. Sideris voting in the affirmative.
