CITY OF MEDINA
RESOLUTION NO.2018-45
RESOLUTION RECOGNIZING AND HONORING MAYOR BOB MITCHELL FOR
DEDICATED SERVICE TO THE CITY OF MEDINA
WHEREAS, Bob Mitchell has provided years of public service to the Medina
community as a City Council Member from 1985 through 1992, as a Planning Commissioner
from June 2013 through December 2014 and as Mayor of Medina from 2015 through July 2018;
and
WHEREAS, throughout Mayor Mitchell's service to the City of Medina several
significant projects have taken place including:
The Tower Drive improvement project;
The City's 2020-2040 Comprehensive Plan;
Reconstruction of the intersection and the implementation of the railroad quiet
zone at Highway 55/County Road 116;
The Willow Water Tower rehabilitation project;
Land Use Development approvals including the Wealshire of Medina, Villas at
Medina Country Club, Medina AutoMotorplex, and Just for Kix;
Renovations to the City Hall Facility at 2052 County Road 24; and
WHEREAS, Mayor Mitchell provided great leadership and guidance on city finance and
general budget matters, public improvement projects and matters related to the efficient
provision of police and fire protection to the City; and
WHEREAS, the members of the City Council and the City Staff benefitted from Mayor
Mitchell's good reminders to respect each other and to appreciate their good fortune to be
Americans and to live and work in the City of Medina; and
WHEREAS, Mayor Mitchell enriched the City with his strong intellect, good humor and
tenacity for detail; and
WHEREAS, the City will deeply miss Bob Mitchell, the delightful man it called its
Mayor these past four years.

THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Medina
acknowledges and expresses its gratitude for Mayor Mitchell's many contributions and his
invaluable service to the community.

The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member Pederson
upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof:
Anderson, Cousineau, Martin, Pederson
And the following voted against same:
None
Whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
