HomeMy Public PortalAbout2018-050 Resolution Granting Lot Combination Approval to Richard and Karen SampsonMember Anderson introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: CITY OF MEDINA RESOLUTION NO.2018-50 RESOLUTION GRANTING LOT COMBINATION APPROVAL TO RICHARD AND KAREN SAMPSON FOR PIDS 18-118-23-22-0040 AND 18-118-23-22-0064 WHEREAS, the city of Medina (the "City") is a municipal corporation, organized and existing under the laws of Minnesota; and WHEREAS, Richard Sampson and Karen Sampson (the "Owners") own two parcels of property located at 3132 Lakeshore Avenue (collectively, the "Property"), which are legally described as: PID 18-118-23-22-0040: The Southerly 20 feet of Lot 2, Block 7, and the Northerly 20 feet of Lot 25, Block 7, Independence Beach, Hennepin County, Minnesota PID 18-118-23-22-0064: The Southerly 40 feet of Lot 25, Block 7, Independence Beach, Hennepin County, Minnesota; and WHEREAS, the Owners have requested approval of a lot combination to formally combine the Property into a single parcel; and WHEREAS, the City Council reviewed the requested lot combination at the August 8, 2018 meeting and reviewed information and recommendation provided by City staff and accepted testimony of interested parties; and WHEREAS, following such review the City Council made the following findings: 1) The proposed lot combination is not in conflict with the general and specific plans of the City and is not premature. 2) Although the lot resulting from the lot combination does not exceed minimum lot standards, it reduces the extent of nonconformance and brings the Property closer to compliance. 3) The lot resulting from the lot combination is more suitable for the type of use contemplated, and the combination is otherwise not in conflict with the findings noted in Subd. 10 of Section 820.21 of the City Code. NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of Medina, Minnesota hereby grants approval to the Owners for a lot combination of the Property into a single parcel, as legally described in Exhibit A, attached hereto.
