Clerk ayor The Wellsburg City Council met in regular session on July 5, 1977, with Mayor Blythe presiding and all councilmen present. Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved on a motion by Cordes, 2nd by Van Deest. Carried. The following bills were allowed for payment on a motion by Huis- man, 2nd by Terfehn. Councilmember Cordes introduced the following resolution en- titled "Resolution Accepting Work and Ordering Preparation of Final Plat and Schedule of Assessments 2nd by Bausman., Roll call of votes--Ayes-Huisman, Cordes, Van Deest, Bausman, Terfehn. Nays -None. Absent -None. Carried. Councilman Van Deest introduced the following resolution enti- tled "Resolution Adopting and Levying Final Schedule of Assessments and Providing for the Payment Thereof", 2nd by Huisman. Roll call of votes--Ayes-Huisman, Cordes, Van Deest, Bausman, Terfehn. Nays -None. Absent -None. Carried. Moved by Van Deest, 2nd by Cordes, the clerk was instructed to notify the City Attorney to draft a petition to call for a special election changing the term of office of city council members from the present two year term to four year staggered terms. Carried. Moved by Van Deest, 2nd by Cordes to approve Ordinance #1016 establishing the size of the Municipal Fire Dept., said department to consist of a chief, assistant chief and regular firemen in number twenty-five, no less than five of whom shall be certified emergency medical technicians, with the Council authorized to in- crease the number of firemen from time to time. Roll call of votes - Ayes -Cordes, Huisman, Van Deest, Bausman, Terfehn. Nays -None. Absent -None. Carried. Moved by Van Deest, 2nd by Terfehn that the city pay $350 toward the summer recreation program in conjunction with the local school. Carried. Moved by Huisman, 2nd by Cordes to increase the salary of Wayne Blythe by 5/ to a gross yearly salary of $14,385 as of July 1st, 1977• Roll call of votes. Ayes -Cordes, Huisman, Van Deest, Baus- man.
