COUNCIL MINUTES
SPECIAL MEETING — MAY 30, 2001
The Special Meeting of the Bal Harbour Village Council was held on Wednesday, May 30,
2001, in the Council Chambers, at Bal Harbour Village Hall. The meeting was called to
order at 6:13 p.m. by Mayor Berlin. The roll was called and those present were:

Councilman James E. Boggess
Councilman Peg E. Gorson
Alfred J. Treppeda, Village Manager
Jeanette Horton, Village Clerk
Joseph Serota, Village Attorney
Nancy Stroud, Village Attorney
Absent: Councilman Seymour Roth
As a quorum was determined to be present, the meeting commenced.
2. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE: The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Mr.
Treppeda.
3. ATTORNEY -CLIENT SESSION: Mayor Berlin stated that the Council is
going to have an Attorney/Client Session, in accordance with Florida Statute 286.011,
relating to the case of Bal Harbour Club Inc. versus Village of Bal Harbour (Case Number
98-026AP). He advised that the session is estimated to last one hour and the following
people will be in attendance:
Mayor Howard J. Berlin
Assistant Mayor Daniel S. Tantleff
Councilman James E. Boggess
Councilman Peg E. Gorson
Alfred J. Treppeda, Village Manager
Joseph Serota, Village Attorney
Nancy Stroud, Village Attorney
Mayor Berlin explained that the proceedings will be recorded by a Certified Court Reporter
and, at the conclusion of all litigation discussed, a transcript will be made part of the public
record. Mayor Berlin requested that all individuals, who have not been named, leave the
room. Mrs. Horton left the meeting at this time.
The meeting was reconvened at 6:45 p.m. Mrs. Horton returned to the meeting at this
time. Mayor Berlin explained that the Attorney/Client Session has been terminated and
that members of the general public are invited back into the Council Chambers for any
further proceedings or matters. The roll was called and those present were:

4. OTHER BUSINESS: None
S. ADJOURN: There being no further business to come before the Council, a
motion was offered by Councilman Boggess and seconded by Assistant Mayor Tantleffto adjourn.
The motion carried unanimously (4-0), with Councilman Roth absent, and the meeting adjourned
at 6:45 p.m.
