HomeMy Public PortalAbout2018-058 Resolution Approving Proposed Tax Levy for 2019Member Anderson introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: CITY OF MEDINA RESOLUTION NO.2018-58 RESOLUTION APPROVING PROPOSED TAX LEVY FOR 2019 WHEREAS, the State of Minnesota has adopted legislation, which requires all municipalities to pass a resolution adopting a preliminary budget and certifying the total proposed tax levy amount to the County Auditor prior to September 30, 2018; and WHEREAS, it is the desire of the City of Medina, Minnesota, to comply with this law and submit a proposed property tax levy including general operating and debt levies; and NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the city council of the City of Medina, County of Hennepin, Minnesota, that the following sums of money be proposed for 2019 upon the taxable property in the City of Medina, for the following purposes: To raise $3,325,897 as adequate revenue for the general fund operating budget, $528,497 as adequate revenue for debt service, $134,500 for capital equipment and $14,000 for municipal park fund. General Fund $3,325,897 Capital Equipment $ 134,500 Municipal Park Fund $ 14,000 Debt Service: 2010A G.O. Improvement Bonds $ 29,500 2011B Taxable G.O. Improvement Bonds $ 59,000 2012A G.O. CIP Bonds $ 241,710 2013A G.O. Refunding Bonds $ 135,681 2015A G.O. Improvement Bonds $ 62,606 Total Levy: $4,002,894 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Clerk, Jodi Gallup, is hereby instructed to transmit a certified copy of this resolution to the county auditor of Hennepin County, Minnesota.
