ORDINANCE NO. 22-2016
AN APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE
SUBMITTAL, ACCEPTANCE, AND APPROPRIATION OF
A GRANT FROM REID HEALTH
WHEREAS, In accordance with Indiana Code (IC) 36-1-4-10, a municipality may execute any
documents necessary to receive money from the state or federal government or any
other source, and said documents are prepared and executed by the City executive
administration, provided that the Common Council of the City of Richmond as the
legislative body of the City approves an ordinance for the appropriation of any monies
received in accordance with IC 36-4-6-18; and
WHEREAS, Reid Health has grant funding available through its "Reid Community Benefit Grant"
program and if said funds are awarded to the City, the Police Department wishes to use
the grant to fund the purchase of a canine and training for the Department's K-9 Unit
Program; and
WHEREAS, The City of Richmond Police Department has submitted or will submit a grant
application to obtain funds for the purchase of a canine and training for the
Department's K-9 Unit Program; and
WHEREAS, No local match is required.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Common Council of the City of Richmond,
Indiana, as follows:
The City of Richmond Police Department has submitted or will submit, as authorized by
IC 36-1-4-10, a grant application to Reid Health for the Reid Community Benefit Grant
program.
2. The City of Richmond Police Department is authorized to accept said grant funding in an
amount up to Ten Thousand Dollars and Zero Cents ($10,000.00).
3. Said funds, if awarded, shall be appropriated to fund purchase of a canine and training
for the K-9 Unit Program for the Richmond Police Department.
Passed and adopted this -- day of TiL 2016, by the Common
Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana.
