CITY OF MEDINA
RESOLUTION NO.2018-61
RESOLUTION ADOPTING THE 2018 HENNEPIN COUNTY
ALL -HAZARD MITIGATION PLAN
WHEREAS, City of Medina has participated in the development of the hazard mitigation
planning process as established under the federal Disaster Mitigation Act of 2000; and
WHEREAS, the Act establishes a framework for the development of a County Hazard
Mitigation Plan; and
WHEREAS, the Act requires public involvement and local coordination among neighboring
local units of government and businesses in the assessment and planning process; and
WHEREAS, the Plan includes a risk assessment including city disaster history, an inventory
of hazards that threaten the City, an estimate of infrastructure at risk, a general description of
population, land use and development trends; and
WHEREAS, the Plan includes a mitigation strategy including goals and objectives and an
action plan identifying specific mitigation projects and costs that will reduce disaster impacts; and
WHEREAS, the Plan includes a maintenance or implementation process including plan
updates, integration of the plan into other planning documents and how City of Medina will maintain
public participation and coordination; and
WHEREAS, the Plan has been shared with the Minnesota Division of Homeland Security
and Emergency Management and the Federal Emergency Management Agency for review and
comment; and
WHEREAS, the City of Medina is opting the Hennepin County All -Hazard Mitigation Plan
as multi jurisdictional in scope and that cities that participated in the planning process chooses to
adopt the County Plan and be included in eligibility to apply for federal mitigation grants.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City of Medina, City Council adopts
the 2018 Hennepin County All -Hazard Mitigation Plan.

and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof
Anderson, Cousineau, DesLauriers, Martin, Pederson
And the following voted against same:
None
Whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
