Milk Carton Hostage Project Exhibition
The purpose of this Letter to Council (LTC) is to share with you that the Milk Carton Hostage
Project presented and discussed at the November 21, 2023 Council meeting will not be able to
be installed in Bal Harbour Village after all. Staff met with the organizers of this project last week
and scouted a location for the placement of the exhibit. Unfortunately, the group was not able
to meet the insurance requirements for a placement on public property. They have had a similar
issue with other cities and have opted to place the exhibits on private properties instead,
particularly in and around Miami Beach, Wynwood and the Design District. After Miami Art
Week, the group stated that they will reach back out to us to explore a possible placement in
Bal Harbour Village in the future.
