NO. 180-2023
To: Mayor Jeffrey P. Freimark and Members of the Village Council
From: Jorge M. Gonzalez, Village Manager
Date: December 8, 2023
Subject: Miami-Dade County Water Service Advisory Update
The purpose of this Letter to Council (LTC) is to transmit an update related to the
previously sent LTC dated December 1, 2023 regarding the scheduled start of a Miami-
Dade County water main refurbishment project to be completed by the Miami-Dade
Water and Sewer Department (WASD) in early December 2023.
WASD has notified the Village that this project is being postponed until further notice,
so therefore, the contractor demobilized the work site earlier this week and the water
system pressure within the Village is expected to improve to normal conditions. WASD
has provided the following emergency call center number for residents to call if they
experience a complete loss of water pressure: 305.274.9272.
Additionally, residents may also call the following Village Public Works and
Beautification Department hotlines to report water service issues, public damage,
hazards, or other service issues:
•Normal business hours Monday - Friday 8:00 am to 4:00 pm
305.993.7391
•Emergency after hours and weekends
305.993.7360
The attached Service Advisory will be posted on the Village website, transmitted via
our WENS system, and social media outreach. Additionally, all registered users will
receive individual notification.
If you have any questions or need any additional information, please feel free to contact

Who to Contact
Should you lose complete water pressure, please contact our 24-hour emergency call
center at 305-274-9272.
IMPORTANT NOTICE:
The Miami-Dade Water and Sewer Department (WASD) is postponing the refurbishment of the
96-inch raw water main project located along Northwest 74 Street. The department will be
further evaluating additional steps to minimize impacts to customers before res uming
construction. Project and service advisories will be provided in advance.
The contractor is now demobilizing the site and WASD crews will begin the process of
reconnecting and filling the pipe with water. This process to bring the water main back into full
service is tentatively anticipated to be completed by tomorrow evening, Thursday, December
7. Water pressures and service delivery are expected to improve moving forward with
customers experiencing normal conditions once the reconnections are complete.
Road closures information:
Beginning today at 2 p.m. NW 74 Street will be closed in the eastbound and westbound
directions from NW 74 Avenue to NW 72 Avenue. We will be detouring traffic around the area
and have proper signage in place. Police will also be on-site directing traffic. We anticipate
reopening the roadway as soon as the job is completed.
While our teams work on restoring the water main’s connection, please contact our 24-hour
emergency call center at 305-274-9272 should you lose complete water pressure.
Thank you for your understanding, as we continue our mission to bring you safe,
reliable drinking water and wastewater services while executing upgrades that will
serve our residents and support the public’s health for decades to come.
