Gonzalez, Village Manager Date: December 8, 2023 Subject: Upcoming Dates and Events The purpose of this Letter to Council (LTC) is to inform you of the following upcoming events and dates related to Village operations: Village Meetings Monday, December 18, 2023 Village Council Workshop (6:15 pm) Village Hall 2nd Floor Monday, December 18, 2023 Village Council Meeting Immediately following the Village Council Workshop Village Hall 2nd Floor Thursday, January 4, 2024 Architectural Review Board Meeting (1:00 pm) Village Hall 2nd Floor Wednesday, January 10, 2024 Resort Tax Committee Meeting (10:30 am) Village Hall 2nd Floor Events on the Horizon Friday, December 8, 2023 - “The Power of Words Exhibit” (11 am – 5 pm) Friday, December 15, 2023 The Power of Words exhibit opened at the 102 Street Beach Access Path as part of our Unscripted Art Basel lineup. Due to the overwhelmingly positive response it has received, the installation will be up past Miami Art Week through Friday, December 15 allowing more of the community and our guests to visit and enjoy. Saturday, December 9, 2023 - “The Market at Bal Harbour Beach” (Saturdays & Sunday, December 10, 2023 Sundays, 11:00 am – 5:00 pm) The Market, hosted weekly on Saturdays and Sundays, offers a variety of fresh fruit and artisanal food for you to enjoy during your stroll on the beach. Located on the beach path by 96 Street. Sunday, December 10, 2023 “Annual Open House with Raymond Elman and Anita Rabinoff -Goldman at the Jewish Museum of Florida” (10:30 am – 1 pm) As Miami Art Week comes to an end, we hope you have enjoyed access to the various art fairs and special events. Our last Unscripted Art Basel event takes place at the Jewish Museum of Florida (JMOF-FIU) with an open house featuring the works of Raymond Elman and Anita Rabinoff-Goldman. Enjoy a morning of art and conversation with the artists behind the inspiring exhibitions on view at the JMOF-FIU. RSVP to Marie or events@balharbourfl.gov. Sunday, December 17, 2023 “BHPD Gift Wrapping Event” (10 am – 12 pm) Spend your Sunday morning giving back to the community! Volunteers are invited to assist as we wrap toys for students in need. RSVP to Marie or events@balharbourfl.gov. Tuesday, December 26, 2023 “Full Moon Yoga” (5:15 – 6:15 pm) Join us for a rejuvenating yoga class under the full moon. The class will take place on the beach by the jetty. RSVP to Marie or events@balharbourfl.gov. Thursday, December 28, 2023 “Movie Night on the Beach ft. Disney Pixar’s Elemental” (7 – 9 pm) Join us as we explore the elements of nature at our Movie Night on the Beach ft. Elemental! Sunday, December 31, 2023 “New Year’s Eve Fireworks Display” (midnight) Ring in the New Year with a festive display of fireworks over Bal Harbour Beach. Fireworks begin at midnight off the jetty and can be viewed along the beach. Monday, January 1, 2024 “New Year’s Day Concert” (4 – 5:30 am) Start the year off with a special concert featuring the South Florida Symphony Orchestra on the beach by 96 Street. Wednesday, January 3, 2024 “Starstruck: A Stargazing Experience” (7:30 – 9:30 pm) Unveil the mysteries of the universe and prepare to be dazzled as we gaze into the night sky. Join us for an unforgettable night of discovery and wonder at our Starstruck stargazing event. The journey begins with activities for all ages including guided telescope viewing of our moon, stars, and surrounding planets along with light refreshments to keep you fueled during your stargazing adventure.
