A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND VILLAGE
COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF KEY BISCAYNE,
FLORIDA, APPROVING AN AGREEMENT BETWEEN
THE VILLAGE AND THE SCHOOL BOARD OF
MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, FLORIDA FOR ADDRESS
VERIFICATION SERVICES FOR THE MARITIME
AND SCIENCE TECHNOLOGY (MAST) ACADEMY
CAMBRIDGE PROGRAM- KEY BISCAYNE;
PROVIDING FOR AUTHORIZATION; AND PROVIDING
FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, on July 16, 2012, the Village of Key Biscayne (the "Village") and the
School Board of Miami -Dade County, Florida (the "School Board") entered into an agreement
that provided, in part, for a minimum seat allocation for Village students attending grades 6-12 at
the Maritime and Science Technology (MAST) Academy Cambridge Program- Key Biscayne
(the "Cambridge Program"); and
WHEREAS, the Village and the School Board desire to enter into an agreement, in
substantially the form attached hereto as Exhibit "A" (the "Agreement"), to provide address
verification services for the Cambridge Program (the "Services"); and
WHEREAS, the Village finds that this Resolution will promote the health, safety
and welfare of the Village.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND VILLAGE
COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF KEY BISCAYNE, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Recitals. Each of the above -stated recitals are hereby adopted, confirmed,
and incorporated herein.
Section 2. Approval. The Village Council hereby approves the Agreement with the
School Board for the Services in substantially the form attached hereto as Exhibit "A."
Section 3. Authorization. The Village Manager is hereby authorized to execute the
Agreement, subject to the Village Attorney's approval as to form, content and legal sufficiency.
Section 4. Effective Date. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon
adoption.
