A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD
AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE AN AMENDMENT TO AGREEMENT
BETWEEN THE CITY OF LYNWOOD AND MUNISERVICES, LLC TO PROVIDE
UTILITY USERS' TAX COMPLIANCE AUDIT SERVICES
WHEREAS, on October 6, 2009, the City entered into an agreement with
MuniServices, LLC to provide UUT compliance audit services; and
WHEREAS, MuniServices was to conduct a review of the UUT collected by the
City on water, natural gas, electric and telephone services; and
WHEREAS, the term of the Agreement ended in October 2011with an automatic
renewal; and
WHEREAS, MuniServices has expressed its interest to continue its work with
the City and has agreed to amend its agreement with the City; and
WHEREAS, MuniServices lowered its annual fixed fee from $31,000 to a not -to -
exceed amount of $20,000; and
WHEREAS, MuniServices compensation for specific City audits will be a one-
time 30% fee of the new revenue which is collected; and
WHEREAS, MuniServices has agreed to waive the $5,000 fee on the audit of
AT&T refund demand.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD DOES
HEREBY FIND, PROCLAIM, ORDER AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That the Mayor is authorized to amend the agreement with
MuniServices, LLC to provide Utility Users' Tax Compliance Audit Services.
Section 2. That this Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
