A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD
AUTHORIZING APPROVAL TO APPROPRIATE FUNDS FROM THE BEVERAGE
CONTAINER AND RECYCLING GRANT FOR THE PURCHASE OF TRASH AND
RECYCLING RECEPTACLES FOR CITY FACILITIES
WHEREAS, to improve and enhance existing solid waste programs; promote
recycling and reduce littering at City facilities; and
WHEREAS, purchasing stainless steel trash and recycling receptacles and solar
powered trash compactors to be installed at various City facilities can be done more
economically and expeditiously using the informal bid process; and
WHEREAS, on September 15th staff conducted an informal bid opening and
received one bid from Forms + Surfaces in the amount of $65,420; and
WHEREAS, funds are available through the Department of Resources
Recycling and Recovery (CalRecycle), formerly the Department of Conservation,
Beverage Recycling Grant.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD DOES
HEREBY FIND, PROCLAIM, ORDER, AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That City Council authorizes the appropriation as follows for the
cost of trash cans, solar compactors, dog litter stations, and staff costs:

Section 2. This Resolution shall go into effect immediately upon its adoption.
Section 3. The City Clerk shall certify as to the adoption of this Resolution.
PASSED, APPROVED and ADOPTED this 20th day of December, 2011.
