SUMMARY STATEMENT:
A three year contract for McCall City Prosecutor was awarded to Williams Law, P.L.L.C. in 2007. In November 2010 a new Request For Proposal (RFP), for McCall City Prosecutor was approved
by Council. Following the bid period, a proposed contract was approved by Council and awarded to Williams Law, P.L.L.C. The approved contract was for one year, January 1, 2011 through
December 31, 2011, and carried a provision for a one year extension in 2012 and again 2013. In 2012 Council approved a one year contract extension for prosecutor services with Williams
Law, P.L.L.C
At the September 27, 2012 Council Meeting, the Council directed staff to post a Request for Proposal (RFP) for the McCall City Prosecutor contract. The RFP was posted in October with
a submission deadline of November 30, 2012. At the December 13, 2012 Council Meeting staff recommended that Council pursue a prosecutorial contract with Jay Kiiha. Council directed
staff to prpare a contract with Mr. Kiiha and bring it to the next Council Meeting.
The recommended contract with Jay Kiiha for City Prosecutor duties is currently under review by both Mr. Kiiha and the City attorney, Bill Nichols. The contract will be forwarded to
Council as soon as available prior to the January 10, 2013 Council Meeting.
Jay Kiiha will attend the January 10, 2013 Council meeting. He will be available to answer questions the Council may have.
RECOMMENDED ACTION: Approve the contract for McCall City Prosecutor with Jay Kiiha and authorize the Mayor to sign all necessary documents.
