SUMMARY STATEMENT:
On April 25, 2013 the City Council approved an Exclusive Agreement for Collection and Disposal of Solid Waste with Lake Shore Disposal. This agreement was written and the fees set with
the premise that all customers would be required to lease a container from Lake Shore Disposal. On June 13, 2013 City Council amended the City code to allow customers of Lake Shore
Disposal to purchase their own approved bear-proof container from any source. Therefore Lake Shore Disposal and the City now wish to amend the Agreement to permit residential customers
to either lease bear-proof containers from Lake Shore or purchase bear-proof containers from third-party container vendors. The amendment includes a revised fee schedule. The attached
amendment is being reviewed by the City Attorney.
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Approve the First Amendment to Exclusive Agreement for Collection and Disposal of Solid Waste with Lake Shore Disposal and authorize the Mayor to sign all necessary documents.
