SUMMARY STATEMENT:
The Idaho Transportation Department has allocated approximately $3.5 million statewide for transportation projects identified in the Transportation Alternatives Program including, but
not limited to: on and off road trail facilities for pedestrians, bicyclists and non-motorized forms of transportation, including sidewalks, bicycle infrastructure, pedestrian and bicycle
signals, traffic calming techniques, lighting and other safety related infrastructure and transportation projects. ITD is soliciting pre-applications for this funding. Applicants
may submit any number of pre-applications. After submission, ITD staff will perform site visits to determine which projects will be invited to formally apply for funding. If any projects
submitted by the City of McCall are selected to apply, those applications will be presented to the Council prior to submission.
City staff are recommending four potential projects to be considered for pre-application:
1. Funding for the FY14 Park St. reconstruction project to include funding for pedestrian facilities
2. Wooley Avenue detached pathway
3. Completion of pathway from Deinhard Lane to Springs apartments
4. McCall Redevelopment Agency pedestrian improvements
This funding will be extremely competitive and successful projects will be those that provide the most benefit to the most people, link people to services, provide safety and accessibility,
and address the needs of children, elderly and disabled. There is a required match of at least 7.34%, however, applicants that can provide more match will be more competitive.
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Approve submission of notice of intent applications for the projects identified above.
