SUMMARY STATEMENT:
City Hall and the Police Department will likely be critical facilities in the event of a disaster or public emergency. Several years ago, staff identified and the Council supported an
emergency backup power generator as appropriate for the building. Since then, upgrades to the building’s insulation and HVAC systems have taken place, and power usage has been greatly
decreased. The generator project has been designed around actual energy usage by the upgraded building, thus saving considerable hardware expense. This has been an informal bid process
due to the overall cost. Six bids were received in response to RFP AD 13-01. Energy Management Corporation proposed the lowest responsive bid.
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Award Bid Number AD 13-01 Stationary Generator and Automatic Transfer Switch for City Hall to Energy Management Corporation.
